Sydney Block Plan is led by Aamod Koirala, Principal Fire Service Engineer with extensive qualifications and hands-on experience across all fire protection systems in commercial, residential, healthcare and industrial buildings.

With dual mechanical engineering degrees and a specialist diploma in fire system design, Aamod brings a depth of systems thinking that most block plan providers simply cannot offer. His FPAS accreditation (Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme) confirms independent assessment of competence in fire protection engineering by the Fire Protection Association Australia.

An engineer doesn't just draw what they're told — they understand how the system is supposed to perform, can identify defects and inconsistencies, and can reconstruct accurate documentation when records are missing.

That expertise is the difference between a drawing that looks right and documentation that is right. When fire crews arrive at your building, the block plans at the FIP need to be accurate — lives depend on it.

Our approach

Every project at Sydney Block Plan follows an engineering methodology:

• Review of existing documentation and fire safety schedules
• Site inspection to verify installed systems against records
• Engineering assessment of zone boundaries, valve arrangements and system interconnections
• Preparation of standards-compliant documentation (AS 2419, AS 2118, AS 1670, AS 3745, AS 1851)
• Quality assurance sign-off by a qualified fire protection engineer

This process means our documentation passes audits, satisfies certifiers, and gives fire crews exactly what they need during an emergency.
